Extra - Curricular Music activities include Chorus and Orff groups.
Orff: A "barred-instrument" group that consists of 25 members from the 4th and 5th grade.
Open to 4th and 5th grades. / participants have been selected
WELCOME TO 2012!!
All rehearsals for Orff group will resume on Mondays at 8am, with our celebration being on our first rehearsal date of Monday, Jan. 9, 2012!
Come hungry for doughnuts!
Spring concert times and dates will be posted shortly!
Chorus rehearsals resume as usual in 2012 as well!

5th grade Singers, interested in All-District Honor Chorus??
If so, a permission slip is going home during our first week back in Jan and auditions will be held to select 10 5th grade Singers to represent ABES.

Monday, Dec. 5,2011 will be our one and only after school rehearsal for
Orff group!
Orff ensemble will be called to the Music Rm between 3:20-3:30, during Bus Stop Dismissal. The rehearsal will end at 5:30. Students will be dismissed out of the front doors, near the office, at 5:30!
It would be a good idea to bring a drink box and extra snack to have at 3:30 :)
Rehearse once a week on Mondays at 8am from Mon Oct 3, 2011 - May 2012.

Permission slips went home in backpacks and 25 students were selected by lottery from those who returned their permission slips. A letter went home on Monday, Sept 26, notifying parents as to whether or not their child was selected.

Club Picture Day - Wed Feb 1 - Wear your Red or Blue Chorus and/or Orff tshirt to school that day and wait to be called for your yearbook club picture
5th grade - If you wanted to be in HONOR CHORUS, you needed to have returned the permission slip by Monday, Jan 9 - and /or spoken to me about it by then! Auditions were held for those who returned the form! If still interested, after auditions, I have only chosen 7 singers, so 3 slots are still open ~ see me SOON, as the list will be turned in to the District this week!!

The shirt pattern remains the same!! If you do not own a tshirt, please place your order by Tuesday, Nov 1!! If you do NOT place your order by Nov 1, then PLEASE try to send it in on the next day, even though it will be late, I will gladly add it to the order!! Practice scripts can be picked up in the music room on Wed/Thurs. On Friday morning, come to the music room when you get to school, after 8:30, and read for your audition. I will record your voice at the 30 second audition, and I will listen to all the recordings on the weekend, and I will post the winners on Monday, Dec. 5.
